As you enter this gem of a boutique hotel, there is an immediate awareness of the sophisticated splendour to come. A cosy log fire is lit in the fireplace on chilly days, while doors that open onto a long, spacious veranda, offer a cool respite from the warm African sun. 

At The Residence breakfast, lunch and dinner are served throughout the day. The menus offer a wide selection of inspired culinary creations, serviced in the dining room, the ballroom or the conference venue. Lean back and relax in the boat lounge, the pool area, or the piano bar, where a pianist’s efforts accompany pre-dinner drinks. Shuttle services are offered in the guesthouse’s selection of Rolls Royce and Mercedes Benz vehicles.  

Experience + Activities 

Take a stroll through the manicured gardens and enjoy a game of tennis on the tennis courts. Alternatively, enjoy a cocktail or swim a few lengths at one of the outdoor swimming pools.  

Guests can work out in the guesthouse’s fitness room, and arrangements can be made to play a round of golf at one of many nearby golf courses. The rooftop in-house spa, is a serene sanctuary, offering four luxurious suites, in which to enjoy varying treatments. Enjoy the Hydro Steam Room and Sauna, on an exclusive-use basis, and at an additional cost. 

Accommodation 

The Residence Villa consists of 5 individual suites and can be booked separately or as a private 5 suite villa. Words do not do justice to the magnificence of the suites at The Residence. 

• Luxury Room – A seductive symphony of sophisticated style, each opulent luxury room has been individually designed and tastefully decorated to please the discerning few who are fortunate enough to experience these sumptuous surroundings. 
• Luxury Suite – The suites are luxurious, elegant and inviting; with soft light reflecting from the antique French crystal chandeliers onto dramatic velvet drapes. 
• One Bedroom Suite – The one bedroom suites are generously proportioned and designed for ultimate comfort and privacy. The separate lounge area leads onto a spacious veranda with private Jacuzzi, pool loungers and dining area. Sit back and take in the incredible views of the manicured gardens and pool. 
• Madiba Suite – The entrance lounge features a specially commissioned oil painting of former president Nelson Mandela. Walking along the passage, there is a charming book case which was transformed from what had been the original lift of the residence. The lounge area features a cosy fire place and leads into a separate bedroom with a well-appointed bathroom. The suite also has an inviting lounge and dining area on the outside terrace, as well as a Jacuzzi and outdoor loungers. (Suite size including terrace: 150m2). 
• Penthouse – The double doors open onto a large, spacious deck and roof garden with Jacuzzi and comfortable seating area overlooking the city. The opulent Penthouse Suite has a formal seating area with a fire place. The en-suite bedroom leads out onto the private outside balcony with a spa bath and outdoor shower. A special feature of the suite is the skylight above the bed to take in the southern skies. (Suite size including deck and roof garden: 193m2). 
• Pool Villa – The Pool Villa is privately situated on the ground floor amidst the manicured gardens. This Luxury Suite offers guests a spectrum of luxury for every occasion. Unwind in the solar heated plunge pool or enjoy a book at the fireplace.
