Located in the peaceful suburb of Karen -Langata bordering the Giraffe Sanctuary, this beautiful little gem with just 8 rooms provides the traveller with an ideal location to rest, relax in tranquil surroundings and a base to explore the area.
OneFortyEight is set in a large lush garden with beautiful lawns in a peaceful part of the City. The location is unique with warthog, parrots, peacocks and monkeys freely coming and going through the garden. Often lions and hyena can be heard at night from the close by Nairobi National Park.
An incredible private home forms the foundation of the Hotel, with original artwork featured throughout making it a living gallery. The 5 brand new suites have been converted from the artist’s original studio, with the Hotel itself spares no modern convenience. The Hotel provides delicious food and wine, beautifully appointed rooms, first class service, in-room television with Wi-Fi and a boutique designer shop on site. Easy access to very good restaurants, museums and wildlife is on the doorstep.
OneFortyEight is made up of the Main House comprising 3 bedrooms and a loft for children, as well as 5 rooms in the free-standing converted artist’s studio. The 5 rooms here consist of 3 apartments and 2 studios.
In the Main House the downstairs living area is an open plan space with a large fireplace. The veranda provides an ‘inside-outside’ feeling and is an ideal space for fresco dining or enjoining the leafy green surroundings,
In the artist’s studio conversion, there is a main living area with seating space and another large open fireplace, as well as an open plan dining area.
Overall a quality and great homely stay in a quiet area of bustling Nairobi.
