The Roberts’ family has been in the safari industry for over 50 years, operating and guiding safaris across the continent and developing lodges in Kenya, as well as contributing hugely to wildlife conservation in Kenya. Mobile Expeditions is run by Roberts family members Ross and Caro and their Classic Camp and Explorers Camps are set up in wild locations throughout Kenya.

Willie Roberts, the founder of Mobile Expeditions and Caro’s father, was a true visionary and one of the forefathers and most instrumental ambassadors of wildlife conservation in Kenya. He set up the first Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya in the Masai Mara, essentially founding the ‘conservancy movement’, saving the greater area from being carved up for farming, laying down a clear path of success for community conservancies in Kenya and setting an example and an inspiration for others to follow.

Mobile Expeditions Chyulu Hills Camp is a fully equipped luxury mobile safari camp of up to 10 double, en-suite safari tents, and a large ‘mess’ tent for lounging and dining. It is only available on an exclusively basis for a min of 4 guests for 3 nights or more. It is privately guided, exquisitely catered and set up in one of several beautiful and remote locations.

The verdant, rolling Chyulu Hills were the inspiration for Hemingway’s ‘Green Hills of Africa’. The long line of extinct volcanoes, now lush and forested, are a hikers and photographers paradise, offering wonderful walks and exceptionally scenic views out towards Kilimanjaro. There is also abundant wildlife and birdlife to discover in another hidden gem – secluded and striking.

The Mobile Expeditions team plan, set up and guide you on a luxury safari that takes you to some of Kenya’s secret wildernesses. Experience a private camp with all the comforts of home – spacious bedroom tents, en suite bathrooms with hot showers, three course delicious meals and beautiful decor. The Classic Camp perfectly combines comfort and charm and is furnished with all the ‘necessary luxuries’ such as white linen, woven carpets and hand-made furniture.
