Luambe National Park offers a Luangwa Valley experience reminiscent of the early days in the Valley, remote and wild! Luambe Camp is the only accommodation in the entire park, so you can be assured that you will have wildlife sightings all to yourself.

With Luambe National Park being located in a core area of Zambia’s Luangwa Valley, it forms a crucial part of its entire ecosystem. The main objective of Luambe Camp and its operating company Luambe Conservation Ltd. is to primarily conserve the habitat and biodiversity of the National Park.

Luambe Camp complements the Conservation Project by delivering a comfortable safari tent accommodation on the banks of the Luangwa River. In the dry season, hundreds of hippo gather below camp and the resident leopard are almost nightly visitors to the camp. The five en-suite tents overlooking the river are spacious with a focus on allowing guests the chance to feel like they have escaped to a lost world.

At Luambe Camp, the focus is on offering a really comfortable safari experience which complements the conservation work being done. In short, it offers everything that you need and nothing that you don’t! Great guiding, a superb location, warm, home style meals and comfy beds all make for an accommodation experience that brings the safari and conservation project to life.

Experience & Activities

Have you dreamed of staying in a wild place and saving animals at the same time? Now you can! Help the LCP team with their mammal census on your game drives OR track and monitor large carnivore movements across the park. Listen to underwater hippo communication, learn the basics of anti-poaching or take escorted walks in the park setting up the Luambe camera traps.

Activities include game drives, safari walks, predator tracking, bird tagging, bat echolocation, birding, bush dining, community visits, mammal & bird census, research sessions, and a “Carmine Coffee” experience.
