Set in an area of pristine wilderness, KaingU Safari Lodge offers a magnificent safari experience in the heart of the African bush.

This is an owner-run lodge, with comfortable accommodations perfectly in balance with the surroundings. The lodge was built with a lot of patience, good taste, and an extraordinary sense for detail. The personal attention to each and every guest makes you feel instantly at home. KaingU offers a unique stay for travelers wishing to get closer to the unspoiled wilderness of the Kafue National Park and experience the warm and welcoming people of Zambia while enjoying wildlife undisturbed.

With only six tents and a family safari house (which also works very well for two couples travelling together or a small party of friends), this is a small and intimate lodge situated in the Namwala Game Management Area (GMA) on a spectacular and remote stretch of the Kafue River, approximately 400 km Northumbria of the majestic Victoria Falls. The lodge features outdoor dining, private decks on all accommodations, superb cuisine and a thought out balance between luxury, authenticity and a true wilderness feel.

Experience & Activities

The Kafue National Park, just opposite the lodge and only a 10 minute boat trip away, offers magnificent game that you can enjoy viewing from comfortable open game drive vehicles. The Kafue River, with all its myriad channels, rapids and islands, lends itself to a range of exciting river based activities, which include boat cruises, fishing, birding, canoeing and river trails. The spectacular granite scenery extends inland as well, allowing guests to explore granite hills and get up above the trees for views of miles and miles of Africa.

  • Standard Tented Chalet : Set on raised individual private wooden decks, each overlooking the Kafue River, KaingU Safari Lodge comprises six double Meru-style tents with en-suite bathrooms, indoor showers, and an open-air shower. The “Honeymoon-tent” has an additional outside bath. Every tent is additionally roofed with thatch to provide extra cooling and further blend into nature.
  • Safari House :The Finfoot family house consists of two bedrooms (one queen, one twin), two en-suite bathrooms each with an outside shower, and a central living area opening onto a private deck overlooking the river. It’s a perfect spot for a couple with children, or a small group of friends.
